The sound of an explosion rocked Thursday night an area in east Beirut, Lebanese police said, according to dpa. Initial reports said the explosion targeted an industrial site in the area, the police said. At least three cars were set ablaze in the area, and initial reports indicated that one person was slightly wounded by shattered glass at the scene. The explosion took place at a paint factory, which was set ablaze. This is the fifth explosion to rock the capital since May 20 when clashes erupted between the Lebanese army and an Islamist militant group called Fatah al-Islam in northern Lebanon.
