The Jordanian Government decided to exploit the abundant Uranium ore found in the Jordanian territories. This came in the framework of the Jordanian project to utilize nuclear power for peaceful means, said a statement released by the Jordanian Cabinet. The Cabinet is currently discussing the establishment of a public company to exploit uranium in the south and west regions of Jordan. Uranium is used for generation of electric power and operation of water desalination plants.
