Italy striker Luca Toni us to sign a four-year contract with Germany's Bayern Munich, club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa today. In the first confirmation from Bayern of the transfer, Rummenigge said the Bundesliga record champions had agreed to pay "exactly 11 million euros" (14.78 million dollars) for the 30-year-old Fiorentina player. "We have reached agreement with the player. He will sign a contract until June 30, 2011," Rummenigge said. Toni will be in Munich on June 8 for a medical examination and to be presented to the press as a Bayern player, he added. According to Germany's Bild newspaper Wednesday, Luca will be the best-paid player in the Bundesliga, with a league record net salary of 5.5 million euros per year. Bayern's two best-paid players, goalkeeper Oliver Kahn and defender Willy Sagnol, are reported to earn 4.5 million euros after tax. -- SPA
