Anne W Patterson is the new ambassador of the United States to Pakistan, officials said. Pakistan has approved her nomination as ambassador to Islamabad. Ms Patterson replaces Crocker, who has been made American ambassador to Iraq. The White House has transmitted to the Senate Ms Patterson s nomination. The hearing in the Foreign Relations Committee (SFRC) is scheduled for this week. President George Bush has already approved her appointment.
