The Secretary General of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Attiyah expressed today deep regret for the clashes that took place in northern Lebanon between the army and Lebanese internal security forces on one hand and elements of "Fath Al-Islam" group in northern Lebanon. Al-Attiyah described these clashes as irresponsible acts which will only lead to undermining security and stability in Lebanon. He also called on all parties on the Lebanese territory to preserve the unity, sovereignty and stability of Lebanon, emphasizing that these events serve only the enemies of Arab and Islamic nations.
