Saudi Aramco discovered recently two new oil fields southeast of Ghawar in the Eastern Province, according to a latest report carried by the Company's web-site. The Mabruk-1 well tested oil in the Hadriya reservoir at 10,300 feet. The well flowed 5,600 barrels per day (bpd) of Arabian Heavy oil (27.4 degree API gravity) with 2 million standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of gas at 1,200 psi on a 40/64-inch choke. Under normal production completion, the well is expected to flow at a higher rate. It is the first discovery in the Hadriya reservoir south of Ghawar. Mabruk-1 is 30 kilometers southeast of Ghawar Field and 270 km south of Dhahran. --MORE
