The Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Member States concluded their 34th Session in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan, on Thursday. At the end of the session, held under the title of “Session of Peace, Progress and Harmony,” the ministers issued a statement named "Islamabad Declaration." The statement, whose full text was carried by the Pakistani news agency, stressed the importance of unity of the Islamic ummah (nation) and adherence to the reform of the OIC and international peace and security. The statement dealt with many topics ranging from issues facing the Muslim world to terrorism, nuclear energy, antagonizing Islam, civilization dialogue and other issues. On issues facing the Muslim world, the statement dealt with the question of Palestine, the Arab – Israeli conflict, the situation in Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan and Afghanistan, the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir, and the cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the International Atomic Energy Agency. ---more
