Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will start an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, Iran's News Agency "IRNA" reported. The visit is in response to an official invitation to the Iranian President extended to him by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan. Iranian President Ahmadinejad is scheduled to hold talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the UAE prime minister and ruler of Dubai, and a number of senior officials of the country. The historical event will be a milestone in Iran-UAE relations. It will also have positive impact on regional ties and relations with other Arab states. Ahmadinejad's upcoming visit is important as no trip has ever been taken place by any Iranian official at such a high level since the establishment of the UAE government.
