Iran and Britain want to improve bilateral ties which were affected by the 13-day detainment of 15 British sailors by Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said Sunday, according to DPA. The spokesman said in a press briefing in Tehran that Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his British counterpart Margaret Beckett met on the sidelines of the Iraq conference in Egypt and agreed to have "more constructive relations in the future." Seven sailors and eight Royal Marines were seized from a British patrol boat on March 23 in the Gulf, triggering a diplomatic stand-off between Tehran and London. They were released on April 4.
