ON THE SIDELINES OF IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES EXPANDED CONFERENCE, A MINISTERIAL MEETING WAS HELD HERE TODAY BETWEEN THE FOUR MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL QUARTET AND THE ARAB COUNTRIES GROUP CHARGED BY THE ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE COMMITTEE WITH PROMOTING THE INITIATIVE. THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO THE MEETING WAS LED PRINCE SAUD AL-FAISAL, THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND THE HEAD OF THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE WHICH WAS CONCLUDED EARLIER TODAY. THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE MEETING INCLUDED SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS BAN KI-MOON, UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF STATE CONDOLEEZZA RICE, RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SERGEY LAVROV AND HIGH REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE COMMON FOREIGN AND SECURITY POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION JAVIER SOLANA AS WELL AS THE FOREIGN MINISTERS OF THE MANDATED ARAB STATES, WHICH ARE SAUDI ARABIA, EGYPT, JORDAN AND SYRIA, AND QATAR, THE CURRENT ARAB MEMBER OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL, AND THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF ARAB LEAGUE AMR MOUSA.
