THE INTERNATIONAL COMPACT FOR IRAQ LAUNCHING CONFERENCE WAS CONCLUDED HERE TODAY WITH APPROVAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPACT FOR IRAQ DOCUMENT UNANIMOUSLY BY THE 63 COUNTRIES AND 12 ORGANIZATIONS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE MEETING. PRINCE SAUD ALFAISAL, THE FOREIGN MINISTER, LED THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO THE CONFERENCE. THE INTERNATIONAL COMPACT FOR IRAQ DOCUMENT CALLS FOR THE CREATION OF A SECRETARIAT THAT HOLDS PERIODIC MEETINGS TO COORDINATE EFFORTS AND REVIEW PROGRESS CONCERNING THE REFORM PROCESS. THE DOCUMENT IDENTIFIES THE GOALS AND VISION OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT AND THE POLITICAL, SECURITY, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL FRAMEWORKS TO ACHIEVE THIS VISION AND MUTUAL COMMITMENTS BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.
