Pakistan and Brunei have reiterated their desire to further consolidate bilateral cooperation in various fields particularly in the area of defense. This was discussed at a meeting between Minister of State for Defense Ali Assad Malhi and the visiting Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force, Brig. General Dato Paduka Mahmud Saidin, according to an official statement. The Minister said that Pakistan and Brunei had excellent relations based on bonds of religion as well as shared perceptions on a wide range of regional and global issues. He said that relations between the two sides needed to be further expanded and enhanced for the mutual benefit of the two countries. Brig. General Dato Paduka Mahmud Saidin also visited Air Headquarters and called on Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. Both the Air Chiefs remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional interest.
