An Austrian court on Thursday upheld the 15-year prison sentence of a man whose companion killed her four newborn babies, stuffing two into a freezer and entombing two others in cement-filled buckets. Johannes Genser's conviction in a retrial in the city of Graz, 200 kilometers (120 miles) south of Vienna, means his original sentence for being an accessory to the murders will stand, authorities said, according to AP. Austria's Supreme Court had ordered the retrial, and Thursday's verdict means the macabre case will be closed. It held Austrians spellbound after the infants' tiny bodies were found at the home of their mother, Gertraud Arzberger, in June 2005. She later pleaded guilty to slaying them. Genser had maintained his innocence, insisting he never noticed the pregnancies, but neighbors testified that Arzberger's swollen belly was obvious. -- SPA
