Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force Brigadier General Dato Paduka Mahmud Saidin has arrived in Pakistan on a five-day official visit, said an official statement. His wife and a two-member delegation accompanied him. He is visiting Pakistan on invitation of the Pakistan Air Force. Dato Paduka Mahmud Saidin will visit different defence installations and call on senior defence hierarchy of Pakistan. Born on June 18, 1958, he joined the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in 1976 and graduated from the Officer Cadet School, Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute in 1978. He served the Royal Brunei Armed Forces as an infantry officer of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force until 1980. He later joined the Air Force and underwent basic flying training at Flying Training School, Royal Brunei Air Force. The General has held various command and staff appointments, including Staff Officer 2 Plans, Search and Rescue, Manager Air Projects, Deputy Commander and Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force. He assumed the command of Royal Brunei Air Force on January 1, 2003.
