Pakistan's pharmaceutical market is valued at $1.28 billion, and the industry has depicted impressive growth, having 409 manufacturing units including 28 multinationals in drugs production, officials said. Medicine exports are likely to cross $100 million by the end of this year due to its sustainable price structure in Pakistan. During the last four years, Pakistan's medicines' exports hiked 30% to 35% due to better quality and reasonable prices. Pakistan is exporting pharmaceuticals to 70 countries including Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kenya and the Russian Federation. Pakistan meets 80% of its domestic demand of medicines from local production and 20% through imports.
