Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has called for strong collaboration between Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore in finding effective solutions to counter problems concerning security and stability within this region. He said issues of terrorism and extremism had heightened concerns since the Sept 11 incident that greater international cooperation had become increasingly important in dealing with regional security and stability and therefore, must be given strong emphasis. "As nations whose economies thrive on, among other things, trade, investment and tourism, naturally the primary concern of all our three countries is the security and stability of the region. "We cannot afford to work in isolation in managing and dealing with them (problems). In terms of law and enforcement, greater international cooperation is the natural way forward in countering problems that transcend borders," said Najib in his keynote address at the Second Annual Event of the Attorney-General's Chambers of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore in Tuaran near here, today, Bernama news agency reported. --MORE
