HAMRANI, THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL AUTOMOBILES COMMITTEE, HIGHLIGHTED THE GREAT ATTENTION GIVEN BY THE INSTITUTE TO THE TRAINING OF THE NATIONAL CADRES. HE NOTED THAT THE GRADUATES OF THE 1ST AND 2ND BATCHES HAVE PROVED TO BE EFFICIENT IN PERFORMING THEIR MISSION IN THE MAINTENANCE OF AUTOMOBILES. AL-HAMRANI HAILED THE SUPPORT EXTENDED TO THE INSTITUTE BY THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT AND THE AUTOMOBILES MANUFACTURERS IN JAPAN. SPEAKING ON THE OCCASION, JAPANESE CONSUL GENERAL ISHIGORE SAID THE INSTITUTE CONSTITUTES ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROJECTS OF THE JAPANESE INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY (JICA). HE NOTED THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INSTITUTE HAS COME WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION PROGRAM, SIGNED BY THE KINGDOM AND JAPAN IN 1998. THE INSTITUTE HAS BEN SHOULDERING ITS RESPONSIBILITY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, NOTABLY IN TRAINING THE SAUDI YOUTH IN THE MAINTENANCE OF AUTOMOBILES, HE SAID ADDING THAT THE INSTITUTE STANDS AS A SYMBOL FOR THE EXISTING STRONG SAUDI-JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP. PRINCE ABDULMAJEED BIN ABDULAZIZ IN HIS SPEECH, READ ON HIS BEHALF BY PRINCE ABDULLAH BIN FAHD, SAID THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ HAS BEEN GIVING TOP PRIORITY TO BENEFITING FROM THE MODERN TECHNOLOGY. HE NOTED THAT THE KING IS KEEN ON THE TRANSFERENCE OF TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING OF THE SAUDI YOUTH. THE INSTITUTE IS ONE OF THE FRUITS OF THE HISTORICAL VISIT PAID BY KING ABDULLAH (WHEN HE WAS THE CROWN PRINCE) TO JAPAN IN -1998, HE NOTED.
