Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has suspended a resolution by the cabinet of ministers to ban financing of the early parliamentary election, due to be held under his decree on dissolution of the national parliament, Yushchenko's press service said last night quoting a respective decree by the President. "Resolution No. 617 of the cabinet of ministers, dated April 11, 2007, On Measures Preventing Actions That Enfringe On The Constitution And Laws Of Ukraine is hereby blocked," the decree says. According to the Itar-Tass, in the light of the President's decision to dissolve the Supreme Rada, the parliament where the ruling coalition represents forces from a political wing opposite to the President, the early parliamentary election is due to be held May 27, but the cabinet of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich refuses to finance it, since the monies for it are not included in the national budget for 2007. In the meantime, to make the necesary amendments to the budget Yushchenko needs consent from parliament, which he dissolved April 2. -- SPA
