China has expressed deep concern over the development of events in Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told journalists today. "We hope that the situation in Kyrgyzstan will remain stable," he said pointing out that this will meet the two countries' interests. According to Itar-Tass, Qin did not confirm an opportunity of transferring the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) due in Bishkek in late August to any other city of the member-states. "This year Kyrgyzstan presides over the SCO and it will host the summit," he said. "Member-states have agreed to closely coordinate their actions and take necessary efforts to hold the summit successfully," Qin said. -- SPA
