The oil-rich Vietnamese southern coastal province of Ba Ria Vung Tau signed yesterday a cooperation deal with the Viet Nam National Petroleum Group (VNPG), reported the Vietnamese news agency (VNA) today. Endowed with oil reserves, Ba Ria-Vung Tau is home to many oil and gas exploration projects carried out by the VNPG, which has helped turn oil fields areas into the country's largest oil and gas industry-driven province. The deal represents Ba Ria-Vung Tau's commitments to offering the best conditions for the VNPG in carrying out projects in the province. The province and the VNPG are cooperating in building a petrochemical and oil refinery complex in the Long Son island, an important project expecting to contribute greatly to spurring the nation's economic growth. -- SPA
