Two new oil and natural gas wells have been recently discovered in Houd Hasi Barkeen in Eastern region of the Algerian Desert. The government-owned oil company "Sonatrach,"announced that the new discoveries were the first ones made by the Algerian Company, using the indigenous technology and resources in the first quarter of 2007. The First oil-well, will have a production capacity of 10 cubic meters per hour and 4,137 cubic meters of gas per hour while the Second oil-well, will produce 18.27 cubic meters of oil per hour and 8, 636 cubic meters of natural gas per hour.
