Insurgents in Thailand burned down last night a school and a child care center in a curfew-imposed district of this trouble-plagued southern province, police said today. According to Thai news agency (TNA), Bannang Sata district officials leading a group of task force soldiers, this morning inspected the two-storey school which was burned to the ground by suspected insurgents last night. The attackers also threw metal spikes on the road to prevent soldiers from hunting them. A nearby child care centre was also burned. Last Wednesday insurgents burned six structures including a school, teachers' homes, a health station and a village administration organization office. The Thai military has imposed curfew in Bannang Sata and Yaha districts after insurgents stepped up their attacks. -- SPA
