A suburban commuter train slammed into a buffer at the end of the tracks at Paris's Gare de l'Est train station on Thursday, lightly injuring about 30 people, railway officials said, according to AP The train, which originated in the eastern Paris suburb of Chateau-Thierry, hit the buffer at about 10 kilometers (six miles) per hour, SNCF railway officials said. About 30 people were lightly injured, but no one was hospitalized. Firefighters were dispatched to Gare de l'Est, in the east of the French capital, and station authorities put an emergency response plan into effect.
