AMR MOUSA, THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE ARAB LEAGUE, TODAY ANNOUNCED HIS REJECTION OF ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER EHUD OLMERT'S SUGGESTION TO HOLD A MEETING OF A NUMBER OF ARAB COUNTRIES IN ADDITION TO INTERNATIONAL AND PALESTINIAN PARTIES AND ISRAEL TO DISCUSS WAYS OF RESUMING THE PEACE PROCESS. IN A PRESS STATEMENT FOLLOWING HIS MEETING WITH NORWAY'S FOREIGN MINISTER IN CAIRO, MOUSA DESCRIBED OLMER'TS CALL AS A "NOT SERIOUS" MESSAGE THAT PROVIDES NONE BUT A USELESS TRIAL OF FREE-OF-CHARGE NATURALIZATION WITH THE ARAB COUNTRIES. HE DESCRIBED OLMERT'S ENDEAVOR AS UNACCEPTABLE TRIAL TO COME FROM BEHIND THE ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE. HE LAUDED THE POSITION TAKEN BY NORWAY TOWARDS MAKKAH AGREEMENT BETWEEN FATAH AND HAMAS, SAYING THAT NORWAY HAS TAKEN THE CORRECT POSITION.
