The President of The Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali announced here today the annual IDB award-winning establishments in science and technology for member countries for the year 2008-2007. The Award of Pioneering development establishments was given this year to the Kingdom-based National Institute for Agricultural Researches; the Award for pioneering basic science Organizations to the Iran-based Higher Institute for basic Sciences and the Award for distinguished scientific studies in less developed member countries to the institute for Food technology in Senegal. The IDB instituted the awards in 2002 in three disciplines, with each prize worth $100,000 to encourage distinguished researches and studies in member states ' Institutes for science and technology.
