Policemen have arrested two suspected kidnappers involved in several kidnapping cases in the southern Philippines, a regional police chief said Saturday. Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao said the two suspects, who were believed to be close aides of Pentagon kidnap gang leader Tahir Alonto, were arrested in a raid at their hideout earlier in the week in Tacurong town in Sultan Kudarat, 960 kilometres south of Manila, dpa reported. Goltiao said the suspects - Alimona Cali and Bakawayan Sumail - did not resist arrest and were now being interrogated at the police headquarters in the area. A bounty of 90,000 pesos (1,878 dollars) is to be paid on the arrest of each suspect. Pentagon kidnap gang was involved in several high profile kidnapping cases in the southern region of Mindanao. The group usually victimized foreigners and wealthy businessmen.
