Striking for the second time in as many days, a Tamil Tiger suicide bomber Tuesday drove an explosives-laden tractor trolley into an army camp in eastern Sri Lanka's Batticaloa district, a hotbed of violence between military and LTTE, killing seven people, including four soldiers. Several others were injured as the vehicle exploded just outside the Chenkaladi army camp, a senior military official said. The office of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE) rival Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) located next to the army camp was also destroyed by the blast and three people there were killed. Those killed included four soldiers of the military base and three civilians, the Press Trust of India reported. About 10 others were seriously wounded, police said. Two soldiers guarding the military camp and two policemen guarding the Tamil party office were among those wounded. There were more than 100 soldiers inside the camp. There was no immediate comment from the rebels.
