FOLLOWING THE TOUR OF THE ARAB SUMMIT'S MEDIA CENTER HERE TODAY, FOREIGN MINISTER PRINCE SAUD ALFAISAL AND ARAB LEAGUE SECRETARY GENERAL AMR MOSA ANSWERED REPORTERS' QUESTIONS. RESPONDING TO A QUESTION, THE FOREIGN MINISTER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO AMENDMENT OF THE PEACE INITIATIVE AND THAT THIS STATEMENT HAD BEEN ASSERTED MANY TIMES. ON PARTICIPATION BY ALL ARAB COUNTRIES IN THE SUMMIT, THE FOREIGN MINISTER SAID, "WE HOPE ALL WILL PARTICIPATE BUT I THINK THERE WILL BE ABSENCE." RESPONDING TO ANOTHER QUESTION, THE FOREIGN MINISTER DENIED THE EXISTENCE OF ANY DICTATION ON THE ARAB SUMMIT. ASKED ON THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT NOT BEING INVITED TO THE ARAB SUMMIT, THE FOREIGN MINISTER SAID THE SUMMIT INVITED ARAB COUNTRIES' PRESIDENTS ONLY NOTING THAT SOME PRESIDENTS WHO ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OPENING SESSION AS OBSERVERS WILL ATTEND. ANSWERING A QUESTION, THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE ARAB SUMMIT SAID THE SUMMIT WILL DISCUSS ISSUES CONCERNING THE ARAB COUNTRIES IN POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER FIELDS. EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED, HE EMPHASIZED.
