The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Sunday expressed hope that the Arab summit scheduled in Riyadh at the end of this week will realize the aspirations of Arab and Islamic peoples in achieving security, peace and stability. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Emir said "We pin hopes on this summit of Arab leaders and we are optimistic that it will yield positive results which will be felt by all, notably Arab and Islamic states." Sheikh Sabah pointed out that the 19th Arab summit is convened at a time when "the Arab world witnesses difficult and critical circumstances owing to the bloody events in the Iraqi arena and developments of the Palestinian cause resulting from Israelis procrastinations and the staggering of the peace process in the region." He said the holding of the summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz provides a good chance for its success in confronting challenges facing the Arab and Islamic nations in various fields." -- SPA
