LEBANON'S PRIME MINSTER FU'AD ALSANYOURAH RECEIVED HERE TODAY THE AMBASSADOR OF THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA TO LEBANON DR. ABDULAZIZ KHOJA. FOLLOWING THE MEETING, KHOJA SAID "WE DEAL WITH ALSANYOURAH IN HIS CAPACITY AS PRIME MINISTER AND WITH NABIH BARRI IN HIS CAPACITY AS SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE, NO MORE NO LESS. IN RESPONSE TO REMARKS MADE BY BARRI IN A PRESS CONFERENCE YESTERDAY, KHOJA SAID BARRI WAS PERFECT AND STRICT IN HIS COMMENTS ON A MEETING IN WHICH I HAVE TAKEN PART. BUT I HAVE NO RIGHT TO SPEAK ABOUT INTER-LEBANESE MATTERS WHICH BARRI RAISED IN HIS PRESS CONFERENCE AS I REPRESENT A FRIENDLY COUNTRY OF LEBANON AND A COUNTRY WHO IS INTERESTED TO SEE LEBANON STABLE AND PROGRESSING. KHOJA ALSO SAID THAT DIALOGUE IS THE ONLY WAY TO SOLVE LEBANON'S PROBLEMS AND SALVAGE THE SITUATION. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A RARE CHANCE BEFORE THE LEBANESE LEADERS, WHICH I HOPE THAT IT STILL PERSISTS, TO REACH A SOLUTION BEFORE THE ARAB SUMMIT, HE SAID, CITING THAT PARLIAMENT MEMBER SAAD ALHARIRI WAS AUTHORIZED BY THE MAJORITY AND BARRI WAS AUTHORIZED BY THE OPPOSITION TO REACH AGREEMENT WITHOUT PRESSURE OR INTERFERENCE OF ANY KIND. KHOJA EXPRESSED HOPE THAT BARRI AND HARIRI COULD TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOLD A MEETING AND REACH A RADICAL SOLUTION BEFORE THE SUMMIT, SCHEDULED FOR RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, IN MARCH NEXT WEEK.
