vehicle accident Monday that killed 15 people in southern Egypt, police said, ACCORDING TO (AP) The vehicles were speeding on a highway near the southern city of Assiut when the accident occurred, said Maj. Gen. Montasir Shuaib, the head of Assiut's security department. The minibus carrying passengers and a truck carrying tomatos, both heading the same way on the route, hit each other and flipped over. Then the taxi barrelled into the other two vehicles, Shuaib said. Fifteen people were killed and three others injured. Road accidents are common in Egypt because of bad roads and poor enforcement of traffic laws. Police estimate road accidents kill about 6,000 people annually.
