A NATO parliamentary delegation has met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, says an official statement. The delegation headed by Karl A. Lamers (Germany), comprised Jan Petersen (Norway), Bart van Winsen (the Netherlands), Senator Raynell Andreychuk (Canada), Markus Meckel (Germany), Nikolai Kamov (Bulgaria), Rasa Jukneviciene (Lithuania) and Steffen Sachs. The Prime Minister told the delegation that the challenges facing Afghanistan are entirely indigenous in nature and require a holistic approach to win the hearts and minds of the people of Afghanistan. He said that the causes and solutions of the Afghan problem lie in Afghanistan and Pakistan will continue to extend all-out support to the Afghan government to achieve peace and stability in the country. The Prime Minister said that a stable and peaceful Afghanistan is in Pakistan's strategic, economic and political interest and Pakistan will be the biggest loser if Afghanistan destabilizes. A stable Afghanistan alone can enable Pakistan to open avenues of cooperation and forge energy, trade and transportation links with Central Asia, he added. --MORE
