Saudi Arabia and Mongolia announced the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. A joint declaration was issued today, stating that "Saudi Arabia and Mongolia agreed to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries. In order to develop relations between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect for the principles of sovereignty, borders and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries; and according to their desire to develop bilateral ties of cooperation in various fields; and in conformation of their commitment to UN principles and objectives to strengthen global security and peace; the two countries have agreed to establish diplomatic relations as of 14/03/2007. The procedures for establishing relations between the two countries must be in accordance with Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 as well as Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963."
