OIL EXPORTS OF THE KINGDOM AMOUNTS, FOR THE TIME BEING, TO 12 PERCENT OF THE VALUE OF THE TOTAL EXPORTS. 'THE KINGDOM BELIEVES IN THE POLICY OF FREE ENTERPRISE AND THE FREEDOM OF TRADE', HE SAID ADDING THAT THE KINGDOM HAS OPEN THE DOOR WIDE FOR FOREIGN INVESTMENTS AND ADDED THAT ITS INVESTMENT ENVIRONMENT IS HEALTHY AND ENCOURAGING. UNDERLINING THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSIFICATION OF SOURCES OF INCOME, DR AL-ALAMI SAID DIVERSIFICATION OF SOURCES OF INCOME REQUIRES ATTRACTION OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT AND INCREASE OF NON-PETROLEUM EXPORTS. DR AL-ALAMI SAID THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ IS KEEN ON ENABLING THE KINGDOM TO ADAPT ITSELF TO THE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS AND CHANGES, BUT HE BELIEVES THAT SUCH AN ADAPTATION SHOULD NOT BE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE COUNTRY'S DEEP-ROOTED VALUES AND PRINCIPLES. DR AL-ALAMI SAID THE 150 MEMBER STATES OF THE WTO HAVE THE UPPER HAND ON ABOUT 89 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL WORLD TRADE.
