Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received here today Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Salih bin Abdulaziz Al Alsheikh. During the meeting, the Indonesian President commended the Saudi stances under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in supporting the government and people of Indonesia in various humanitarian and relief fields, pointing out that the Kingdom was one of the first countries to come out in support of Indonesia during Tsunami disaster by providing financial assistance and miscellaneous relief aid. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important country for Indonesia. We are keen to develop the relations with it. We also appreciate the Saudi care for Indonesian pilgrims," Yudhoyono said. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is exerting great efforts towards our country and we are proud of our distinguished relations with the Kingdom. We were pleased with the considerable efforts made by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz which resulted in Makkah agreement between Palestinian factions," Yudhoyono added. The Indonesian President hoped that the efforts made by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will proceed in solving the problems of the Islamic World. On his part, Sheikh Salih conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz to the Indonesian President. During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing and enhancing the relations between the two countries in the field of Islamic affairs. The meeting was attended by senior officials.
