The Asian Development Bank (ADB) would provide over $1.5 billion to Pakistan during the next three years for executing major projects in the water sector, officials said. It has already provided over $ 1.5 billion for the improvement of water sector over the last ten years. The programme will provide significant capacity development at the provincial and federal levels for investment planning, policy analysis, and water resources management, officials said. The ADB in its review regarding Pakistan s water resources said it is vital for the county s economic well-being and their improved management is also imperative for poverty reduction.
