A rat delayed an international flight from the New Delhi airport by more than three hours, leaving many passengers irritated and fuming, a newspaper reported today. The trouble began after the rodent entered the London-bound Air India flight on Wednesday, hiding in a cavity of a wheelchair used by an elderly passenger, the Times of India said. Soon after it was spotted, authorities issued an alert not to let the flight take off until the rodent was removed from the plane. Removing such a pest through fumigation can take four hours or more, airport authorities said, but luckily for the passengers, the rat was captured by airport staff and thrown out in an operation that lasted more than two hours.
