ASSAF SAID A MEETING AT THE ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK HEADQUARTERS DISCUSSED TODAY MEANS OF ALLOCATING A FUND FOR SUPPORT OF THE POOR. HE ANNOUNCED THAT THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA, UNDER INSTRUCTIONS OF THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ, HAS DONATED $ 1 BILLION FOR THE FUND.
HE SAID SAUDI ARABIA CALLED FOR CONTRIBUTION OF ALL MEMBER COUNTRIES, WITH THE LEAST POSSIBLE CONTRIBUTION FROM POOR COUNTRIES, TO EXPRESS THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH THIS HUMANITARIAN PROJECT.
HE SAID THE FUND WILL BENEFIT FROM THE ZAKAT (ALMS) AND ENDOWMENTS SOURCES.
