THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA WILL HOST ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY IN RIYADH THE FIRST MEETING FOR THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC NEWS AGENCY (IINA) AND THE ISLAMIC BROADCASTING ORGANIZATION (IBO). THE MEETING WILL BE CHAIRED BY MINISTER OF INFORMATION IYAD MADANI IN THE PRESENCE OF OIC'S SECRETARY GENERAL PROFESSOR EKMEL-EDDIN IHSAN OGLU. DR ABDULLAH AL-JASSER, THE UNDERSECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION, SAID THE SEVENTH ISLAMIC INFORMATION MINISTERS CONFERENCE, HELD IN JEDDAH LAST LUNAR MONTH OF SHABAN, APPROVED THE REVISION OF THE REGULATIONS OF IINA AND IBO IN A MANNER THAT MAKES THEM MORE EFFECTIVE AND INFLUENTIAL IN LINE WITH THE OIC'S GOALS. HE NOTED THAT THE ISLAMIC INFORMATION MINISTERS CONFERENCE HAD APPROVED THE RE-FORMATION OF THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS OF THE TWO INSTITUTIONS AS WELL AS PREPARATION OF THE REQUIRED STUDIES FOR THEIR DEVELOPMENT. DR AL-JASSER LAUDED THE READINESS SHOWN BY THE ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK (IDB) TO FINANCE THE REQUIRED STUDIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TWO MEDIA INSTITUTIONS.
