The National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce hosted here yesterday a reception for Prince Turki Al Faisal, the Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America on the occasion of the end of his term. In an address on the occasion, Prince Turki reaffirmed the depth of Saudi-American relations, pointing out that this was not the result of official efforts - political, diplomatic and commercial, but also the outcome of efforts between the private sectors, businessmen and individual contacts between the two friendly nations through a large number of channels, including the programs of scientific, cultural and students exchanges. He explained the great efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to diversify its sources of economy and not restrict them in the field of oil and oil industries as well as expand job opportunities for its citizens; open the door to private investment and provide opportunity for all to participate in these efforts in a large number of areas including the information technology, financial services and banking and other modern industries. He called on businessmen , and the CEOs of major companies in the United States of America to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and see for themselves the developments and investment opportunities. He noted the efforts of the Kingdom to invest in their citizens through the significant steps it has undertaken to reform its educational system and provide opportunities for Saudi youths to obtain a high level of education, whether inside Saudi Arabia or elsewhere through the exchange program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. The program covers studies in several countries including the United States of America. He stressed the importance of this program to provide an opportunity for Saudi students to obtain higher education and represent their country, its point of view, affirm its stances and work on introducing the Kingdom to the rest of the world.
