Kyrgyzstan's parliament voted to confirm a long-serving aide of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev as prime minister on Monday, ending a deadlock that had held up legislation including this year's state budget. Parliament voted 57-4 to make Acting Agriculture Minister Azim Isabekov, 45, the impoverished Central Asian state's premier. Former prime minister Felix Kulov resigned in December during a row over a new constitution, Reuters reported.
