French President Jacques Chirac praised during a meeting here yesterday with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the significant contribution made by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in the reconstruction of Lebanon. A statement by the French presidency, "The l'Elysée Palace" said Chirac informed Ihsanoglu, "the results of the Paris-3 to support Lebanon and praised in this regard, the substantial financial contribution made by the IDB in the reconstruction effort in Lebanon." The French President and the OIC Secretary General discussed the situation in Iraq, Iran and the peace process in the Middle East.
