THE SAUDI ELECTRICITY COMPANY HAS SIGNED A CONTRACT WORTH SR 2,459 MILLION WITH THE ARAB 'BAMAKO' CONTRACTING COMPANY, TO FACILITATE AN INCREASE IN POWER GENERATING CAPACITY AND ENHANCE FEEDING OF THE ELECTRIC NETWORK IN THE CENTRAL REGION IN ORDER TO MEET THE PEAK SUMMER LOAD IN 2008. THE COMPANY HAS ALSO SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR ENHANCING THE POWER GENERATING CAPACITY IN HAIL REGION FOR MEETING THE LOADS OF THIS YEAR'S SUMMER AT A COST OF SR 173 MILLION. ON THE OTHER HAND, ENG ALI AL-BARRAK, THE COMPANY'S EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT, SIGNED CONTRACTS WORTH SR 354 MILLION FOR COOLING THE AIR OF THE TURBINES OF THE NINTH STATION IN RIYADH.
