A 19-year-old Indonesian woman has died of bird flu, a senior health ministry official said Saturday, thus raising the country's death toll to 62. The woman, from a village in West Java province, died on Friday after hospitalized for three days in the town of Garut, some 200 kilometers (125 miles) southeast of capital Jakarta, said Nyoman Kandun. The woman's death is the fifth human bird flu fatalities in the country since Jan. 9, before which Indonesia had not recorded any cases for six weeks _ a lull that led some Indonesian officials to say they were succeeding in beating the disease, the Associated Press reported.
