A remotely controlled bomb struck a vehicle carrying Afghan troops in eastern Afghanistan, killing three soldiers and wounding four, The Associated Press quoted officials as saying. The blast in Khost province occurred during a visit to the province by President Hamid Karzai, but he was miles away from the scene of attack in Nadir Shah Kot district. The pickup truck that soldiers were riding in was completely destroyed in the blast, said Gen. Murad Ali, the deputy corps commander for Afghan National Army's eastern command.
