THE LOANS EXTENDED BY THE SAUDI ARABIAN AGRICULTURAL BANK IN KHARJ PROVINCE DURING LAST FISCAL YEAR, 1426-1427, AMOUNTED TO 97,959,038. THEY INCLUDED 6 SHORT TERM LOANS WITH A VALUE OF SR 380499, AND 298 MEDIUM TERM LOANS AMOUNTING TO SR 97,578,539. DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE BRANCH OF THE AGRICULTURAL BANK IN KHARJ SAAD AL-SAEEDAN SAID THESE LOANS HAD CONTRIBUTED TO FINANCING A NUMBER OF AGRICULTURAL AND ANIMAL PROJECTS. AL-SAEEDAN POINTED OUT THAT THE BANK HAS BEEN EXTENDING AGRICULTURAL SUBSIDIES TO THE FARMERS. HIGHLIGHTING THE GREAT ATTENTION BEING GIVEN BY THE SAUDI OFFICIALS TO THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR, AL-SAEEDAN SAID 'THANKS TO THIS WISE POLICY, THE KINGDOM HAS ATTAINED SELF-SUFFICIENCY IN SO MANY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS. HE DESCRIBED KHARJ PROVINCE AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AGRICULTURAL AREAS IN THE KINGDOM, NOTABLY IN THE PRODUCTION OF DAIRIES, VEGETABLES, DATES, WHEAT AND POULTRY.
