Bush will address the nation on Wednesday evening to outline his new plan for securing Iraq, White House spokesman Tony Snow announced. “The president will be addressing the nation on his plan for a way forward in Iraq and the global war on terror,” Snow said. The White House has asked U.S. television networks to show the speech live, he added. Bush is expected to announce a temporary increase of U.S. troops in Iraq by as many as 20,000, according to media reports.
