Police on Sunday launched an investigation into a deadly bus accident that left 41 passengers dead in eastern Bangladesh, a police official said. The accident occurred on Saturday when the speeding bus packed with passengers veered off the road, crashed into a ditch and burst into flames in Comilla district, about 90 kilometers (55 miles) east of the capital, Dhaka. About seven passengers managed to jump out of the bus before it burst into flames, the area's police chief Mahbubul Haque was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
