Pilgrims spend Three days of "Tashreeq" in Mina
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 31 - 12 - 2006

The Pilgrims are now spending the first day of "Tashreeq," the second day of Eid Al-Adha, thanking the Almighty Allah to make it possible for them to perform Hajj.
The pilgrims will stone the Jamarat; starting with the Jamarat 'Al-Sugra' (the smaller), then Jamart 'Wousta' (Middle) and finally Jamarat 'Al-Aqabah' after they stoned (on the Day of Eid Al-Adha) yesterday the Jamarat Al-Aqabah.
A number of reporters of the Saudi Press Agency noted yesterday the smooth flow of pilgrims in and out of Al-Jamarat Bridge as a result of new expansions carried out under the Jamarat Project, whose first phase was inaugurated two days ago by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud. This phase was completed in a record time and its construction did not exceed a period of eight months.
The bridge accommodates easily huge crowds of pilgrims who have been flocking successively since early morning yesterday to stone "Jamrat Al-Aqabah. "
The reporters affirmed that they witnessed no over-crowding above or under the bridge.
Pilgrims stoned the Jamarat comfortably and in tranquility, they said.
The decision taken by the security forces to prevent pedestrians from staying and sleeping on adjacent areas of the bridge, had played a major role in facilitating the task of the security men in directing the movement of pilgrims on their way to the bridge or at the location of the bridge, the reporters disclosed.
"Moreover, the movement to the bridge was controlled by the security forces by identifying the streets of the goers to the bridge and those who come out of it by using multiple routes to prevent over-crowding. It was carried out under the direct supervision of security officers in coordination with the 'Tawafah' establishments so as to adhere to the timetable set for the masses of pilgrims."
