India said Sunday that Iran has the right to pursue its nuclear program for peaceful civilian use, the Iranian News Agency "IRNA" reported. Reacting guardedly to the anti-Iran resolution of Security Council, India's External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Navtej Sarna, said, "We have noted the passage of the UN Security Council Resolution and are studying its implications. "We continue to feel that all possible efforts should be made to address the Iranian nuclear issue by peaceful means through dialogue and negotiation." Sarna added that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should play a central role in resolving outstanding issues. He said Iran has the right to pursue its nuclear program for peaceful civilian use, adding, Tehran has undertaken certain obligations that its nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes.
